The Cryptic series, as requested by Josh Twelker, delivers a quick edge response and an aggressive feel, with a massive pop off the wake. Shaped by Greg Nelson, the Cryptic is a fast board featuring a continuous rocker and a slightly wider profile. The shape includes a subtle landing feature in the belly, transitioning to dual concave tunnels exiting the tip and tail, for an aggressive approach to the wake.
The variable edge design is bevelled between the stance platform, providing a forgiving feel, and sharpening at the tip and tail for secure edging. Twelker describes the Cryptic as a free rider's delight, with effortless carving and an explosive pop off the wake.
The continuous rocker line, which started it all, defines the board's speed and fluid, predictable pop. Designed to carry great speed into the wake with minimal drag, the continuous rocker generates a longer trajectory with similar pop every time.
The Hyperlite Cryptic features a monocoque construction, integrating the top and bottom glass into one, generating a more durable board against side impacts and preventing delamination. The fiberglass is available in three weights, depending on the board, and the layered glass ensures the same pop off the double up year after year, as traditional woven glass fibers are less prone to separation over time.
The Cryptic incorporates several advanced technologies, including the BIOLITE 3 CORE, a VARIABLE THICKNESS PROFILE, a VARIABLE EDGE DESIGN, M6 INSERTS, and a MINIMUM SWING WEIGHT PROFILE. These features work together to provide an exceptional riding experience, with a forgiving feel, secure edging, and a durable construction that maintains its performance over time.
